Cosmetics: Executives from public and private sectors receive training in European quality standards

About 15 executives from the public and private sectors received training in European quality standards in sector of cosmetics and personal care. The training course was offered by the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Tunis. The executives are expected to provide support national cosmetic companies so that they obtain the ISO 22716 standard, a certification which aims to guarantee the safety and quality of cosmetic products on the basis of uniform and transparent specifications, the GIZ Tunis said. The ISO 22716 includes specifications on the manufacturing, control, storage and shipping of cosmetic products. The training focused on "the regulation of cosmetic products in Europe" (CE 1223-2009), the main regulatory framework for cosmetic products when they are marketed on the European market. This training is part of the «Qualitative Growth for Employment» (CQE) project implemented during the 2022/2026 period by GIZ, in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy. The CQE is funded by t he European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of the Competitiveness and Export Support Program (PACE). It aims to strengthen the capacity of companies to integrate supply chains, promote the export capabilities of SMEs and adapt to developments in the European market.
