Chinese journalists Say Friendship Square Driving Force for Ethiopia’s Tourism

Addis Ababa: Chinese journalists hailed the Friendship Square they visited in Addis Ababa and noted that it is a very important driving force for tourism development in Ethiopia. The Chinese journalists from the People's Daily national newspaper are in Ethiopia to enhance cooperation with their Ethiopian media counterparts. The journalists visited Friendship Square Park, which features an artificial lake, a square to gather, water fountain lights at nighttime and contains lots of flowers with diverse species of flora. People's Daily editor, Cui Qi said the friendship square is very beautiful and beyond her imagination. 'I think the Friendship Square will be a very important driving force for tourism development in Ethiopia,' she stated. The editor expressed her 'hope that more Chinese people will come to Ethiopia whether to work or travel. And the Friendship Square is a destination they must visit because this is very beautiful and represents friendship.' According to her, Ethiopia is a very important p artner of China in promoting sustainable green development and also the tourism development It is therefore important for the two countries to work together to make tourism greener and also promote the harmonious coexistence between humankind and nature as well, Cui Qi stressed. People's Daily senior editor, Ren Yan said the Friendship Square is a very comfortable and beautiful place. 'I think more and more Chinese people will explore the beauty of Ethiopia in the future. I think this place will become a new destination for the Chinese people to visit.' Although Ethiopia is very far away from China, it can become a new destination for Chinese tourists as there are now frequent flights that link the two countries, Ren Yan stated.
