Chinese Journalists highlighted the importance of the BRICS bloc to strengthen media partnership between Ethiopia and China for the benefit of the countries. Chinese media delegation drawn from the leading Chinese Peoples' Daily Newspaper is in Addis Ababa for a working visit in Ethiopia. The journalists told the Ethiopian News Agency that the multifaceted relationship between Ethiopia and China has been rapidly growing with strong people to people ties. They stressed the need to further enhance the longstanding friendship between Ethiopia and China in media cooperation through the BRICS framework. In this regard, the BRICS is vital instrument to further enhance the cooperation between the two countries. Senior Editor at People's Daily Newspaper, Ren Yan noted the importance of media to further bolster the existing relations between China and Ethiopia. 'When we look to the future, I think the media plays important role in promoting the ties and the understanding between our two peoples. Peoples' Daily i s the leading newspaper in China. And we want cooperation with your news agency.' Editor in chief at Peoples' Daily Newspaper, Huang Peizhao stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopian News Agency as it is a big media institution. He said, it is pivotal to deepen the cooperation between our two sides. 'BRICS is very important. It's a new organization and both of us are the member of BRICS. I think is it's a good idea to take the opportunity to deepen our relations in the media sector.' Editor at Peoples' Daily Newspaper, Qi Cui highlighted the importance of BRICS to strengthening Ethiopia's cooperation with China and expressed hope this tie will further be enhanced through media cooperation. 'Last year Ethiopia became BRICS member country. We are very happy to see that and as a media worker as a person working for media, I hope that Ethiopia will continue to strengthen cooperation with China within the framework of BRICS,' She said with deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges as wel l represented by media cooperation, the bilateral relations of the countries will continue to flourish, and the BRICS mechanism will continue to strengthen as well.
