China and Africa will take opportunity of the Beijing Summit Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to further deepen their cooperation and make new contributions to promoting the global modernization, Ambassador Hu Changchun said. Head of Mission of China to the African Union, Ambassador Hu briefed the media today about the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit that will take place from September 4 to 6. The summit under the theme of 'Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future' is expected to attract African heads of state as well as representatives from regional and international African organizations. According to Ambassador Hu Changchun, it will be an event that strengthens China-African partnership and explore cooperation and chart the course for the future. 'We believe that China and Africa will take the opportunity of Beijing Summit FOCAC to further deepen solidarity and cooperation and to make new contribut ions to promoting the global modernization and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind,' he said. The head of mission reaffirmed that China is always Africa's good friend, partner, and brother. 'Together with our African friends, we have pressed ahead on the path of solidarity and cooperation and looked out for each other in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have enhanced China-African relations to the new stage of jointly building a high level community with shared future.' He stated that the upcoming Beijing summit will be another friendly gathering of the big China-African family, mutual respect, treating each other as equals and joining in consultations are important features of FOCAC. The two sides are having intensive communication and consultation under preparation of the summit and other activities with the aim of carrying forward the spirit of China-Africa, friendship and cooperation, and making this summit another symbol of our solidarity, the ambassador noted.
