Candidates for run-off local elections step-up campaign ahead of electoral silence

The run-off local elections campaign will conclude on Friday at midnight, and candidates in Medenine governorate are actively engaged in the field. Candidate Saleh Chamekh pledged to work for the upgrading of infrastructure, development of agriculture and healthcare services. He promised to reopen the post office, refurbish the educational institutions, establish a vocational training centre and promote tourism in the region. Candidate Hassan Hamed for Omret Jedida, South Medenine, undertook to set up a post office and fit out spaces for youths. He pledged to improve the health sector, upgrade infrastructure, foster entrepreneurship in the industrial and agricultural sectors and regularise the situation of construction workers. Candidate Fethi Lamari for the El Mamrat in Ben Guerdane, focused his programme on upgrading the road and electricity networks, complete works on the seawater desalination plant at Saidane, set up a post office and a primary healthcare centre and improve school transport.
