According to the resident coordinator of the United Nations system in Burkina, Carol Flore, 'In a combined action, supported by joint planning and effective coordination with the government, humanitarian partners were able to assist more than 2.9 million people in 2023 in different regions of the country and in several sectors. During the first three months of this year, more than 700,000 Burkinabè people were assisted by humanitarian actors. The humanitarian response helps save lives and alleviate immediate, medium and long-term suffering. We need to invest more in concrete actions that strengthen and shape resilience within families and communities. » To respond to the needs of the moment, Mrs. Carol Flore invited all humanitarian actors and the authorities to further strengthen the mechanisms which make it possible to give vulnerable people assisted the capacity to produce their own means of subsistence in order to build their own livelihoods. own future.
