Breast cancer screening caravan in Tabarka

Minister of Health Ali Mrabet was present on Saturday at the end of the health caravan for breast cancer screening at the Tabarka regional hospital, using the "Mammo Life" mobile unit, which was launched over three days in the region of Jendouba on the initiative of the National Office for the Family and Population (ONFP). The Minister pointed out that the aim of this caravan is to bring health services relating to the early detection of breast cancer through mammography closer to women in the interior, in order to strengthen the prevention of this disease. The number of breast cancer cases has exceeded 4,000 per year and now represents 30% of the total number of cancer cases in Tunisia, according to the Ministry of Health's statistics for 2022, presented during the awareness campaigns organised in conjunction with the caravan's activities. Outpatient medical consultations were organised on Friday at the Tabarka regional hospital using the "Mammo Life" mobile unit as part of the screening caravan, which wa s launched over three days in the Jendouba region.
