Bouden chairs ministerial working session focusing on 2023 summer tourist season

Prime Minister, Najla Bouden, chaired on Tuesday in Kasbah a ministerial working session dedicated to monitoring the 2023 summer tourist season. This meeting provided an opportunity to review the tourism indicators recorded in Tunisia in 2022 and during the first half of 2023 in comparison with competing destinations, and to examine the objectives and forecasts for the remainder of the current season. The government members attending the meeting also discussed the best ways to ensure the success of the tourist season by continuing to promote Tunisia as a destination abroad, organising tourist events, stepping up visits to check the quality of services provided by tourist units and planning clean-up campaigns around tourist sites, circuits and beaches. The meeting also examined the possibility of relaunching the electronic visa project and a series of proposals aimed at recapturing the Russian market, which is very important for the tourism sector. Recommendations were also made to speed up the granting and review of permits in the tourism sector and to facilitate the operation of hotel units, particularly with regard to the use of the public maritime domain and the granting of related permits.
