Bogandé: Young people repair national road 18 near the Environment department

Young people from the Diepérim neighborhood, in sector 3 of the city of Bogandé, mobilized on Saturday to repair a portion of national road 18 badly damaged by water, not far from the environmental service. On Saturday, October 5, 2024, young people from the Diepérim neighborhood, reinforced by other youth groups from the city of Bogandé, joined forces to repair national road 18, damaged by rainwater near the environmental service. From 8am, they mobilized as one man, with the means available, such as a tricycle, shovels and empty bags, in order to fill a large ditch more than 8 meters long and 0.90 meters deep. According to Valentin Dabourgou, one of the initiators of the activity, the idea had been maturing for a long time, but with their limited means, the mobilization of working materials took time. He welcomed the support of the population, mainly young people, for the implementation of this action, which, according to him, is inspired by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who called on each Burkinabè to get involved to make Faso an exemplary country. The day workers were also encouraged by some road users through donations of water packets and cash. The participants in the work have agreed to meet again next weekend to continue work on other sections of the road. Source: Burkina Information Agency
