Appointment of Tunisian Radio CEO: HAICA files complaint with Administrative Court

The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communications (HAICA) said it has filed a complaint with the Administrative Court against the Prime Minister to annul the decision to appoint a new CEO at the head of the Tunisian Radio. The regulator said this appointment goes against the provisions of Article 19 of decree-law 116 which provides that the regulatory authority is responsible for issuing assent concerning the appointment of the presidents and CEOs of the Tunisian Television and the National Radio. In a statement released on Saturday, the HAICA said it had hired a lawyer to complete all necessary legal procedures. Henda Ben Alaya Ghribi was appointed as the CEO of the Tunisian Radio, under Decree No. 434-2023 which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic JORT No. 58 of June 2, 2023.
