Free Destourian Party (PDL) President Abir Moussi is suffering a political injustice, said member of her defence committee NefaS Laribi, arguing that the measures taken by the investigating judge do not meet the conditions required for a fair trial. At a protest rally staged by PDL supporters in front of the Bar Association seat in Tunis, NefaS Laribi pointed out that "the elements of the crime are not met in the case of the PDL president, which the investigating judge in charge of the case tries to ignore." Moussi's imprisonment constitutes an illegal detention and a breach of the procedures applied in a trial, he indicated, stressing that "the acts committed on October 3 by the lawyer can in no way be considered a crime." For his part, lawyer Karim Krifa said that the protest rally staged in front of the Bar Association seat by PDL supporters is a message to all Tunisians that Abir Moussi is the victim of procedural excesses committed by the investigating judge against her and of a violation of the requ irements of a fair trial.
