161st session of Arab League Council: Unwavering support for just Palestinian cause

The 161st session of the Arab League Council at ministerial level held in Cairo on Tuesday discussed a large number of issues related to the Arab situation, mainly the Palestinian question, joint Arab action and cooperation relations with regional and international partners and groupings. The Foreign Ministers meeting in Cairo agreed to limit themselves to speeches by the Secretary General of the Arab League, the Presidents of the previous and current sessions of the Council, and the Palestinian and Algerian Foreign Ministers, as Algeria is currently a non-permanent Arab member of the United Nations Security Council. The speeches by the heads of the participating delegations were distributed to the media and "considered as documents of the Council session", according to the Foreign Ministry. The speech by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, who headed the Tunisian delegation, reaffirmed "Tunisia's determination to strengthen Arab solidarity and consolidate joint Ar ab action at this delicate time". He also referred to "Tunisia's constant position and unwavering support for the just cause of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state on the entire Palestinian territory with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital," the same source added.
